DRAFT Level 1 School Facility (Developer) Fees January 2023
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, pursuant to Education Code section 17620 and Government Code sections 65995, the West Contra Costa Unified School District (“District”) will hold a public hearing to approve a resolution to adopt the new state statutory Level 1 school facility fees on residential and commercial/industrial construction. The District conducted to a study (“Study”) to justify and determine the amount to be charged for Level 1 state statutory developer fees on new residential and commercial/industrial construction and determined that the District is fully justified in levying the maximum statutory fee amounts, or $4.79 per square foot of assessible space of new residential construction and $0.78 per square foot of chargeable covered and enclosed space of new commercial and industrial construction. At the hearing described below, the District’s Governing Board will consider the Study and may adopt the resolution and the new Level 1 School Facility Fees.
